Luxury Destination Wedding at Dundas Castle: Rachel & Zach’s Spectacular Scottish Celebration

June 26, 2026

A Texan Love Story Meets a Scottish Castle

When a couple from Texas dreamt of saying “I do” in Scotland, they didn’t just want a beautiful wedding—they wanted an unforgettable experience. This luxury destination wedding at Dundas Castle became everything they had imagined and more.

There is something incredibly special about working with couples who choose Scotland as the backdrop for one of the biggest moments of their lives.

Rachel and Zach travelled all the way from Texas to celebrate their wedding at the breathtaking Dundas Castle, just outside Edinburgh. Like many American couples planning a destination wedding in Scotland, they fell in love with Scotland’s history, dramatic landscapes and timeless romance.

Our role at Muse Styling wasn’t simply to decorate their wedding.

It was to translate a vision into an experience.

When you’re planning a wedding from over 4,500 miles away, trust becomes everything. Our job was to become Rachel and Zach’s creative eyes on the ground, taking every idea, inspiration image and conversation and transforming it into a wedding that felt entirely personal to them. It was such a pleasure to work with Lisa from Tartan Weddings on this.

Why American Couples Choose Scotland for Their Wedding

Every year we work with more international couples who choose Scotland for their destination wedding.

It’s easy to see why.

Scotland offers:

  • Historic castles
  • World-renowned hospitality
  • Incredible scenery
  • Exclusive-use wedding venues
  • Romantic architecture
  • Luxury accommodation
  • Rich heritage
  • The perfect balance of elegance and adventure

For American couples, getting married in Scotland often becomes more than just a wedding—it becomes a once-in-a-lifetime experience shared with family and friends travelling together.

And few venues capture that magic quite like Dundas Castle.

Designing Rachel & Zach’s Luxury Wedding

From our very first conversations, Rachel wanted the wedding to feel romantic, refined and effortlessly luxurious.

Soft blush tones met crisp whites.

Beautifully textured florals softened the historic stone surroundings.

Layers of candlelight created warmth throughout the reception.

Every single floral installation was designed specifically for the architecture of Dundas Castle rather than simply being placed within it.

The result was a celebration that felt completely at home within the venue.

The Ceremony

The ceremony centred around an oversized floral arch overflowing with:

  • White hydrangeas
  • Garden roses
  • Spray roses
  • Delicate blush blooms
  • Sculptural greenery
  • Cascading amaranthus

Set against the castle walls, it framed Rachel and Zach beautifully while still allowing Dundas Castle itself to remain the hero.

One of our favourite design principles is allowing florals to complement incredible architecture—not compete with it.

The Bridal Flowers

Rachel’s bouquet perfectly reflected the overall design.

Featuring luxurious white orchids, calla lilies, peonies, blush garden roses, ranunculus and flowing amaranthus, it was soft, elegant and naturally sculptural.

Meanwhile, the bridesmaids carried bouquets that echoed the palette while allowing each arrangement to feel individual.

Reception Styling

As guests entered the reception, we wanted the atmosphere to change.

Daytime romance gave way to intimate evening elegance.

Long tables were dressed with:

  • Abundant floral runners
  • Elevated statement arrangements
  • Soft candlelight
  • Gold accents
  • Olive green linens
  • Elegant glassware
  • Delicate tablescape details

Nothing felt over-designed.

Instead, every detail worked together to create a space that encouraged guests to relax, celebrate and stay long into the evening.

Planning a Destination Wedding From America? Enquire with our team here

One of the biggest concerns international couples have is:

“How do we plan everything from overseas?”

It’s a question we hear often.

The answer is simple.

We become your local creative partner.

Rather than simply supplying flowers or styling individual areas, we oversee the visual journey from beginning to end.

For many of our destination wedding couples this includes:

  • Wedding design
  • Floral design
  • Venue styling
  • Ceremony design
  • Reception styling
  • Installation management
  • Venue coordination
  • Styling logistics
  • Supplier collaboration
  • On-the-day installation

Planning from another country shouldn’t feel stressful.

When the creative direction is managed by one experienced and local team, every decision becomes simpler.

More Than Beautiful Flowers

The flowers are often what guests remember first.

But they’re rarely what makes a wedding unforgettable.

It’s the atmosphere.

The feeling.

The moment guests walk into a space and collectively stop talking because they’re taking everything in.

Those are the moments we design for.

Rachel and Zach’s wedding wasn’t memorable because of one floral arch or one bouquet.

It was memorable because every element felt connected.

Every room told the same story.
